Ernst Zimmermann was born on April 25, 1889, in Bad Tölz. He studied at the art academy Berlin-Charlottenburg. Much of his knowledge was acquired autodidactically. As of 1946, Ernst Zimmermann was a member of the "Münchner Sezession." He produced mainly water colors, but he also did graphite pencil drawings.
He died in 1961.
